My Field of Tiger Striped Roses

Literature Text
I walked through my field of tiger striped roses
And towards my lone willow tree
The light from the sun flowed over mountains
As you danced in the meadow with me
We laid on the grass as the dawn became day
The warm wind blew on my face
I lay on your chest as you smiled and I knew
I would always be in your embrace
This is my field of tiger striped roses
My special place in my mind
The place I’d go where you’d always be
Until you left me behind
You had once promised you’d always be there
As long as I had this place
But now you’re gone and it has become
As dead as the vacuum of space
Now that my field is lifeless and dark
I have no reason to stay
The sun has set inside my mind
As my field begins to decay
This is my field of tiger striped roses
My special place in my mind
The place I’d go where you’d always be
Until you left me behind
This is my field of tiger striped roses
Once a place of beauty
But now it’s been cast away, forever lost
All because you left me
And towards my lone willow tree
The light from the sun flowed over mountains
As you danced in the meadow with me
We laid on the grass as the dawn became day
The warm wind blew on my face
I lay on your chest as you smiled and I knew
I would always be in your embrace
This is my field of tiger striped roses
My special place in my mind
The place I’d go where you’d always be
Until you left me behind
You had once promised you’d always be there
As long as I had this place
But now you’re gone and it has become
As dead as the vacuum of space
Now that my field is lifeless and dark
I have no reason to stay
The sun has set inside my mind
As my field begins to decay
This is my field of tiger striped roses
My special place in my mind
The place I’d go where you’d always be
Until you left me behind
This is my field of tiger striped roses
Once a place of beauty
But now it’s been cast away, forever lost
All because you left me
